The Bridging the Hearts and Minds Conference Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the welcome addition of Dr. Daniel Siegel (author of the forthcoming book Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain), who will offer a keynote talk on Saturday afternoon following the regular sessions. Dan, a noted neuropsychiatrist and author who has written and spoken extensively on the topic of mindfulness and the brain, will be joining us in San Diego and providing an informal and powerful context to the conference proceedings. The general public will be able to purchase tickets to hear his talk, but attendance will be free for conference registrants.

In addition, Friday night's public lecture will feature a dialogue between author and pioneer in the teaching of mindfulness to children Susan Kaiser Greenland and US Representative Tim Ryan. Susan and Tim will be presenting together on "Mindfulness, Our Youth and the Future of Citizenship in the World".
