Sponsored by the PANGEA-HIV Consortium in conjunction with the 21st International Workshop on HIV Dynamics and Evolution
PANGEA-HIV (Phylogenies And Networks for Generalized Epidemics in Africa) is a major new initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation primarily to generate a large volume of sequence data from African HIV cohorts to facilitate the phylodynamic characterization of generalized HIV epidemics.
Sequence data generated under PANGEA-HIV will be publicly available, and the consortium dataset, including matched demographic data, will be available for collaborative research from external groups. In this first PANGEA-HIV Workshop invited experts in the field will present their latest work and members of the consortium will outline the partner sites, the plans for data generation and mechanism of access for external collaborators.
Consortium Executive Group: Deenan Pillay, UCL/Africa Centre (PI); Christophe Fraser (Imperial College); Paul Kellam (Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute); Andrew Leigh Brown (University of Edinburgh); Tulio d’Oliveira (Africa Centre)
All participants at the 21st International HIV Dynamics & Evolution are invited to attend, FREE of charge but you must register before the start of the main meeting.
