Program Overview

The 15th Annual UC San Diego Stroke Conference offers an update on the latest advances in stroke care and research. The course will provide cutting-edge information for practitioners on current clinical practice and present future possibilities for stroke treatment, recovery after stroke and its prevention. The program faculty is comprised of the core faculty that represents the UC San Diego Comprehensive Stroke Center. Lectures will include panel discussions with ample opportunity for participants to engage with faculty. It is the belief of the UC San Diego Stroke Center that through education, we can improve patient care and help bridge the gap between knowledge and practice to improve outcomes.

Target Audience

The target audience for this activity includes neurologists, primary care physicians, cardiologists, vascular and neurosurgeons, registered nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, EMS personnel and other healthcare providers caring for stroke patients.

Program Objectives

At the conclusion of the conference, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the most current guidelines for the treatment, prevention and recovery after stroke
  • Describe the recent status of advances in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of stroke
  • Review new research and technology for stroke care
  • Identify harmonized measures for disease specific care of stroke patients
  • Discuss the role of multidisciplinary care in stroke
